How an anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) was sized for a 60 t/h palm oil mill and why a steel tank beat a lagoon on footprint and rainy-season build risk.
An anaerobic digester is a sealed tank with no oxygen in it, where bacteria break down wet organic waste and give off a methane-rich gas called biogas. The gas is captured and burned for heat or electricity, and the same process treats the waste at the same time. Common feedstocks are farm slurries, food processing residues, dairy whey and sludge, poultry litter, palm oil mill effluent and cassava mill effluent. What comes out is digestate, which is used as fertiliser and compost.
Biogas Dewatering with a Chiller Skid: Protecting Gas Engines from Condensate
Biogas dewatering with a chiller skid: cool to a 20°C dew point and filter to 3 microns to protect engines from condensate and ammonia.
Small-Scale Pyrolysis Waste to Energy: Why Pair It with an ORC, Not a Gas Engine
Small-scale pyrolysis waste to energy: a containerised 5 tonne-a-day plant making 50 kWe with an ORC, and why an ORC beats a gas engine.
When an Open Flare Is Enough: A 170 Nm³/h Biogas Flare for Farm and Mill Digesters
Open flare for biogas: when a 170 Nm³/h elevated flare is enough for a small digester, and how it compares with an enclosed flare.
Ammonia Stripping Waste Heat at Gin Drinkers Bay
Organics designs thermal ammonia stripping systems that match heat source to leachate chemistry. If you have waste heat from flaring or thermal oxidation, the next step is a site heat-balance discussion to see whether a similar circuit fits your flow and duty.
Covered Lagoon Biogas for Palm Oil Mill Effluent: Process Guarantees and Scope
Covered lagoon biogas for POME: guarantees of 85% COD removal and 55 to 60% methane, with cooling, lagoon and gas handling scope.
Bidding on a Food Waste Digester Tender: Eleven Questions to Ask Before You Price
What a bidder asked after the site visit for a fruit and vegetable market digester tender, and why each question changes the price and risk.
The WENT Landfill Plant: Thermal Ammonia Stripping System
The WENT landfill leachate treatment plant demonstrates how a thermal ammonia stripping system integrates waste-heat recovery, modular packed-tower construction and conditioned air humidification to remove ammonia from high-strength landfill leachate at scale.
Coal Dust Pyrolysis: How a 1 MW Power Plant Is Planned
Outline design for turning coal dust into about 1 MW of net power, and the cooling decision that shifts the output.
